Lucy Peters never imagined she’d live in the gorgeous Georgian property she walked by every day, but now it’s hers

Lucy Peters, a retail and hospitality stylist, had been collating images of creamy neutrals and sculptural furniture on her ‘dream home’ Pinterest board for years before the scheme became a reality. After renovating 12 houses with her husband Adam, her dream house finally came on the market.

‘We’ve been very fortunate to live in cottages, barns and farmhouses but I craved a home with bigger proportions, high ceilings and large windows,’ Lucy explains. ‘We used to walk our dogs past this beautiful Georgian property but didn’t think we’d ever live here.’ Though old-fashioned, the grand house had all the space the couple needed for their three adult sons and Lucy’s parents, who moved into the adjoining coach house. However, the kitchen and all the ancillary rooms needed knocking through and rooms on the top floor turned into a bedroom suite.

Lucy decided to use an interior designer as the scale of the six-bedroom project was just too big for her. After being really impressed by the decor of a local renovated hotel, she discovered Faye Robinson Interiors. ‘Faye had worked with traditional elements in the hotel but had given them a modern twist,’ explains Lucy. ‘The interiors were beautiful, detailed and high quality and the project had won an award.’
