FOURTH WALL
Artist Roland Hicks brings a multi-faceted artistic experience, seamlessly blending drawing, painting, still-life, geometric abstraction, collage and performance with sculpture. His transformative work will grace the Hastings Contemporary’s sea-facing walls, conjuring an illusion of haphazardly constructed barriers from found materials. The viewer’s interpretation becomes a dynamic element – a commentary on folly, responses to rising sea levels, fortification against invaders, or a statement on resourcefulness amid economic challenges and critiques on consumerism and waste.
