Issue 8 of Aston Martin Driver is a 132-page special celebrating 60 years of the iconic DB5. We start by driving a newly restored example to explore the reasons by the car’s continuing fame before looking at the man behind it, Aston’s chief engineer, Harold Beach. Next are two special versions; one of the 12 Shooting Brakes by coachbuilder Harold Radford plus a unique V8 model built in 1966 to test Astons new engine. We also compare the DB5 against one of its main rivals, a Bristol 408, and look at its main weak points.
