Bob the drag queen

Bob the Drag Queen certainly hasn’t been resting on her throne since taking home the crown on season eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The versatile queen is the co-star of the immensely popular Sibling Rivalry podcast alongside fellow Ru Girl Monét X Change, has dropped her own LP, Gay Barz, and recently released her one-woman standup show. She’s also friends with Madonna and is currently on the singer’s Celebration tour as its support act. Not jealous at all. Read on to learn how Bob absolutely loathes pasties but loves a Nando’s Wing Roulette, and to hear about her “pretty normal” relationship with Ms Ciccone.

What would your All Stars entrance line be?

I just don’t see myself back on Drag Race, which isn’t a very fun answer. But a fun answer would be, “I’m here to suck dick and eat lollipops. And bitch, I’m out of lollipops.”

What’s your favourite Madonna era?

I’d say 2002—2010, especially when she had ‘Girl Gone Wild’. The MDNA tour was just so fun. It was truly her campest era.

What’s the best thing about the UK?

I love Nando’s. I’m gonna get that Peri-Peri Chicken, honey, and the Wing Roulette, and it’s gonna be popping. And I love a good Tesco’s Meal Deal.

And the worst?

The food — except Peri-Peri Chicken. The pasties and the beans on toast.

Who from Drag Race would you fuck/marry/kill?

Me and Peppermint can get married. I’m gonna kill Lucian Piane, because we got into an argument on my season. And I’d fuck Tayce — what a beautiful person.

What’s your best memory of RuPaul?

In the makeover challenge, during a break, RuPaul started runway walking while singing. She was like, “I wanna show you bitches I still got it!” And, another time, her and Michelle started singing, like, a full Cher concert when we were standing on the stage.

BOB ON…

HER STAND-UP SHOW, WOKE MAN IN A DRESS

It’s a remix of my last special, which is why I released it for free on my YouTube channel. It’s honestly the funniest thing I’ve ever released. It’s really, really funny — and it’s free! I love that comedy is going this way. We get to keep all of our intellectual property. And we get to make more money from it this way as well. We realised we don’t need these big networks to reach our audiences anymore — it’s 2023 now, you know.
