neos has revealed the Fusilier as a smaller version of the Grenadier with the option of pure-electric power.

The 4x4 company’s third model – after the Grenadier SUV and closely related Quartermaster pick-up – is due to be built in Austria from 2026 by Magna, which also builds the Jaguar I-Pace, Fisker Ocean and, most pertinently in the case of the Fusilier, the Mercedes G-Class.

The Fusilier will also be engineered and developed by Magna, which has presided over the G-Class programme for 45 years. Part of the Fusilier’s development will involve durability testing on the infamously challenging Schöckl Pass – a proving ground for every iteration and variant of the venerable German 4x4 so far and now Ineos founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s own benchmark.

Ratcliffe has previously laid bare the importance of the Fusilier’s off-road credentials. He told Autocar: “Because it’s electric, it will inevitably carry a bit of a weight penalty, but my expectation is that it will still have the range and capability of the Grenadier. We aren’t going to compromise.”
