The TV presenter is reportedly set to become a father in June after years of fertility heartbreak

Two and a half years after tying the knot, Ant McPartlin and his wife Anne-Marie Corbett are reportedly expecting their first child together, with multiple sources claiming that the TV presenter is delighted to become a first-time dad at 48.

Although neither Ant nor Anne-Marie, 46, have confirmed the exciting news, Ant’s stepfather David Woodall has said, “He will make a good dad. He’s good with the girls so he’ll be great. He’s very happy I think. I’m over the moon.”

Insiders have also revealed that Ant had admitted to Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli during filming that Anne-Marie is expecting in June after going for their five-month scan a few weeks ago. The source told The Sun, “This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.

“When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday with the love of his life is the stuff of dreams for Ant.” They continued, “He’s already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie’s kids, and together they’re going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family.”

When Ant and Anne-Marie tied the knot in August 2021 at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, after three years together, Ant became a stepdad to Anne-Marie’s two daughters Daisy, 15, and Poppy, 13, who she has with ex-husband Scott Corbett following their split in October 2017.

In his wedding speech – in front of 150 friends and family members including best man Declan Donnelly and fellow TV presenters Stephen Mulhern and Cat Deeley – Ant spoke of his joy at being a stepfather, emotionally telling guests, “They are amazing girls, and I’m grateful that they call me ‘Dad’.” He later added, “We are the perfect family.” The two girls are said to have performed readings during the ceremony and acted as bridesmaids.

Ant also gushed about his new wife – who he has previously referred to as his “rock” and credits with helping him overcome his drug and alcohol addictions – in his speech, saying, “When Anne-Marie walked into the church, I had to fight to hold it together as she looked so beautiful.”
