They are, in their own words, “the happiest divorced couple in the world” but Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s growing closeness has led to increasing speculation that they could remarry in the near future. The Duke and Duchess of York – who continue to live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor despite being divorced for nearly 30 years – are said to have become inseparable in recent times, as Sarah continues to staunchly support her ex-husband, in the wake of his disgrace from the royal family in 2020.

Sarah’s diagnosis with malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, earlier this year have also given her a sense of vulnerability. It’s the latest health battle to hit the former Duchess, who had a mastectomy for breast cancer last year.

Now, secret plans are in the making by Andrew who wants to get married to his ex again. “Andrew has been mulling over whether or not to propose to Sarah for years now,” an insider reveals. “Now, as they spend all this time together and grow even closer during tough times, it’s increasingly his opinion that it makes sense.” The source explains, “Number one, he says life is too short and that they make each other happy, so why not formalise things again? Queen Camilla and Prince William are bearing the onus of the royal duties as their partners rest up. A remarriage could also put their daughters, Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 33, in a better stead.

“In Andrew’s mind, they’d be invited to all the main functions again, and their daughters would see their statuses enhanced too. For him, it’s a no-brainer,” the source added.

The marriage rumours circulating around Andrew, who turned 64 this month, and Sarah – nicknamed Fergie – come as a source claimed that the King would give the couple his blessing to marry again. While they don
