Following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, Fern Britton is getting ready to return to our TV screens

After years away from the spotlight, Fern Britton is said to be ready to make the ultimate TV comeback, especially following on from her success in Celebrity Big Brother.
With her infamous feud with Phillip Schofield long behind her, the former This Morning host now wants to return to the job she always loved.
Presenter Fern was a fan favourite during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, reaching the final before losing out to David Potts. And after seeing the public’s support for her, the 66-year-old is apparently keen to give her on-screen life another whirl.
‘I didn’t get an invitation’
An insider tells Bella, “Fern is planning her big TV comeback. She’s desperate to do her own chat show and is already in talks with TV networks. CBB has done her the world of good, the public forgot how likeable she is, but the show has given her that new lease of life. It’s no secret she was treated badly before, and it put her off doing TV again, but now she feels ready to be back on screens.”
To most, Fern is best known for the decade she spent in the nation’s living rooms as the host of ITV’s f lagship daytime show This Morning. During her later years on the show, she was co-anchor with Phillip Schofield, 61. But despite the smiles on screen, it was rumoured that the pair often clashed behind the scenes and, in 2009, Fern quit the show and was replaced by Holly Willoughby.
While reports at the time suggested Fern quit over a pay disparity between herself and Phillip – something she later denied – Phil went on to write in his 2020 autobiography that any semblance of friendship was destroyed following a 2009 backstage bust-up wheree Fern accused him of “meddling”.
Following her departure from the show, Fern largely disappeared from screens. She did, however, pop back on This Morning for the show’s 30th anniversary. During the segment, she infamously congratulated
Phillip on the show’s recent BAFTA win celebrations, adding, “I would have loved to have been there but I didn’t get an invitation.”
