The Queen wants to focus all her attention on King Charles and Kate Middleton
Queen Camilla has vowed to keep her daughter-in-law Meghan Markle at arm’s length whilst her husband King Charles and Kate Middleton undergo treatment for cancer.
With rumours swirling that Meghan and Prince Harry are keen to reconcile with the royal family, palace insiders have revealed that the Queen is worried this could cause unnecessary stress for her family.
And in light of the current situation, she thinks any drama is best put to one side for now. “Camilla doesn’t want to inf lict undue stress on Kate or Charles by inviting Harry and Meghan over to hold any sort of peace talks,” our source said.
“It’s not a question of her being bitter, she’s just got so much else going on. Down the line, the door could be open for Harry to make amends if he’s truly willing to own up to his mistakes. But as far as Meghan, Camilla is struggling to see the good that would come from welcoming her back, especially as she feels that any visit would be extremely uncomfortable.”
Next month marks ten years since Prince Harry launched The Invictus Games, the multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women. A special event is due to take place at St Paul ’s Cathedral on 8 May to honour the milestone anniversary, with Prince Harry, 39, set to attend.
However, it is unknown if he will be travelling to the UK solo or with his wife Meghan, 42, and their children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.
But ahead of next month’s prestigious celebration, royal insiders tell Bella that regardless of whether it will be a whole family affair for the Sussexes, welcoming the former royals back into the royal household is at the bottom of Queen Camilla’s priority list.
Following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Harry said he was “sure” his father’s illness could help heal the infamous rift between him and his family, and that he loved them very much. But sources say that Camilla, 76, won’t see Meghan unless Charles insists.
