The TV star is looking fabulous and it’s not going unnoticed…

Alison has previously admitted to struggling with her weight

Life’s going swimmingly for Alison Hammond. She’s never been in higher demand, with top telly jobs on This Morning, The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer and For The Love Of Dogs, she moved into her “dream home”, and she’s lined up an exciting new TV series with the BBC. And on top of that, she’s looking fabulous and younger than ever!

The star, 49, has just been announced as the host of Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, which sees celebrities welcoming her into their homes for two days. “I’m so excited to serve up some big lols and tons of OMG revelations as I spend some quality time with some of the UK’s favourite celebrities,” she said.

Her recent hosting stints on This Morning and Bake Off have seen praise aimed at Alison as viewers complimented her latest makeover. “Alison’s make-up, hair and smile are just perfect. She’s so beautiful,” one fan said. Another noted, “She’s just getting better with age, she looks fabulous.”

Alison’s youthful new look – including long, glossy hair extensions – comes seven months after she revealed she gained a stone after eating the sweet treats on the set of Bake Off. Judge Paul Hollywood shared that the star couldn’t resist trying the food in the tent. “I have put on a stone. I couldn’t believe it. I am just going to get bigger,” she said last September.

“I am literally going running tomorrow!”

Since then, Alison’s efforts to drop those pounds have been successful. So what are the secrets to her fab figure? As well as running, she’s been having intense gym sessions with her personal trainer Lui Mancini. She shared an insight into her workouts last year, showing her walking fast on the treadmill, using battle ropes and boxing on a punch bag. She also walks daily and does kettle bell weights at home while she’s watching telly.

Alison’s happiness is a marked contrast from two years ago, when she got emotional as she opened up about her weight battle on TV. “I’ve had obesity all my life. It’s your regulation system is out of whack. You can’t control wanting to eat all the time,” she said on This Morning. “Obesity is a disease. You can’t help it. It’s so hard, people don’t realise. When you’re big, people think you’re lazy. It’s really difficult. You want all the bad things and you know you don’t look great.” She added that she felt “embarrassed” by her 20st and size 30 frame.

Alison was very close to her mum

She previously told Bella, “My weight is the one thing in my life that I feel like I can’t achieve. When you get really big like me, you don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. I need to do it in small stages.”
