Ruth & Eamonn’s SHOCK DIVORCE

The couple announce their split after living increasingly separate lives

They’ve long been considered one of showbiz’s strongest couples. But last week, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford shocked us all by announcing their split, confirming in a statement that “their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing”.

It’s certainly dropped a bombshell in the world of entertainment, putting an end to a partnership that, after 27 years together and 14 years of marriage, seemed unbreakable. But as the dust settled on their sad news, and Eamonn thanked fans for their support on his GB News breakfast show days later, it soon became clear that the writing had been on the wall for a while, with sources saying they’ve been leading “separate lives, personally and professionally” for two years now.

In 2002, the couple welcomed their son, Jack, now 21, and started to work together more on TV. But it was in 2006 that they cemented themselves as a formidable partnership on and off screen – becoming co-hosts of Friday episodes of This Morning together and drawing favourable comparisons with Richard and Judy in the process. They married in 2010 and, for the next decade, seemed rock-solid in both their professional and personal lives. The fact that that they p
