A pal says the star is determined to ‘move on’ as she works through her heartbreak
Television presenter Ruth Langsford has been left questioning if she really knew the man she was married to for 14 years, sources have revealed to Bella.
The star shocked the nation last month when she announced she was divorcing her husband and partner of 27 years, Eamonn Holmes.
And last week, it emerged that the reason behind her decision was because she reportedly discovered messages between her husband and another woman on a laptop.
“Ruth is questioning if she really knew the man she married. She thought he was her soulmate, she nursed him through his recent health battles and stood by him through thick and thin,” sources have told us.
“She feels horrid about it all.
She’s asking if she’s just been a convenience for him all this time.”
Last week we exclusively revealed how the Loose Women star had been left “devastated” and “hurt” when she found out that her estranged husband Eamonn had been leaning on a mystery blonde woman following the news of their split.
According to The Sun, the bombshell messages Ruth, 64, uncovered were also said to be from the same woman Eamonn, 64, has reportedly struck up the bond with. The Northern Irish GB News host is said to have “showered” the woman in question – a relationship counsellor – with gifts, as well as going on outings with her, including a rumoured safari park trip in February. There is no suggestion that Eamonn and this woman are anything other than friends, but a source close to Ruth said the presenter was “devastated, very upset and also angry” when she stumbled across the messages.
“Ruth feels like she has had the rug pulled from beneath her. She resents Eamonn and wants him to be accountable for his actions,” our source continues.
The duo are parents to a son Jack, 22, while Eamonn is also father to Declan, 35, Rebecca, 33, and Niall, 31, from his first marriage to ex-wife Gabrielle Holmes.
