They’re notorious for their onscreen clashes – and Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan have had yet another on-air bustup – with Janet telling Coleen she needs to ‘grow up’ – OUCH!
Coleen, 58, was describing her upset at her daughter, Ciara, 22, flying the nest to go off travelling with her boyfriend on a one-way ticket, with no return date in sight.
She explained that the pair have been planning the trip for nearly two years, saying: ‘They’ve worked really hard and saved up and I’m so proud of them both, but honestly I can’t stop crying. But I’m trying not to do it in front of her, as I’m thrilled and I’m proud because what an amazing thing to do. But it’s like losing my best friend.’
At this point, host Ruth Langsford, 63 (who has expressed her own worries about ‘empty nest syndrome’) stepped in to sympathise – pointing out that Coleen will find Ciara’s absence difficult as she ‘runs her life’.
Coleen agreed, saying ‘She is the mother of the house. My son texted me the other day and said, ‘this will do you good Mum as you need to grow up.’
Janet, 77, couldn’t resist agreeing, saying, ‘Just speaking for her, she’s got to be allowed to live her own life.’
