WRITE A PAW-FECT STORY FOR BEST & Win £500!

Do you have a brilliant pet story just waiting to be written? We’re looking for budding fiction writers to share their paw-some animal-themed works of art with best to be in with a chance of winning our fiction prize!

All you need to do is write a short story (maximum 1,200 words) and share it with us by our closing date. One winner will receive £500, and two runners-up will each receive £200. All three stories will be published in a future edition of best. So what are you waiting for? Start typing!

*TERMS & CONDITIONS: Open to UK residents aged 18 and over. To enter send your story along with your name, email and phone number to bestfiction@hearst.co.uk with “Pet fiction” in the title by 20 March 2024. Entries in the incorrect format will not be considered. This competition opens on 13 February 2024 and closes on 20 March 2024. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered. The prize is publication of your story in Best magazine, and £500. Two runners up will win publication of your story in Best and £200. The winner and two runners up will be selected by our judges from the entries received shortly after our closing date. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and to have agreed to be bound by them. This competition is not open to any employees of Hearst Magazines, the promoter or their immediate families, the promoter’s advertising agency and sales promotion consultancy, or anyone else connected with the creation and administration of the competition. Only one competition entry, fulfilling the eligibility requirements above, will be accepted per person. Once selected, only the winners will be contacted personally using the contact details provided upon entry. Winners will be notified once selected.
