BEHIND THE SCENES WITH

'I'm signed up for a year... but I don't want to leave!"

Former Coronation Street actress Melanie Hill is joining Casualty to play clinical nurse manager Siobhan Mackenzie. The much-loved actress, who has also starred in dozens of high-profile dramas including Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Bread and Waterloo Road, has moved to Wales with her husband Jim Daly to take up the role. She tells us more….

She is blunt, hardworking, experienced, and very loyal. She also won’t take any nonsense! In many ways, I’m like her in the sense I have stopped being a people-pleaser.

She cares a lot about her job and when a problem arises, she’ll go straight in and deal with it. She solves lots problems and I’m loving playing her.

I literally pinch myself every day! I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have this role and even though I was terribly nervous at the start, everyone has been so welcoming. It’s such an iconic set.

Aside from childbirth, I had a hip replacement 10 years ago.
