In 2007, the girls reunited for a global tour

In December 2000, the Spice Girls announced they wanted to concentrate on solo careers – and the world waited to see what they would do next.

Far from fading into the background, Victoria, now 49; Geri, 51; Mel B, 48; Mel C, 50; and Emma, 48, proved that they had major staying power.

Arguably the most famous, after marrying football superstar David Beckham in 1999 and becoming one half of the unstoppable ‘Brand Beckham’, Victoria went on to have a short-lived solo singing career, with two No.1 singles, including Out Of Your Mind – a duet with Dane Bowers.

Victoria – now proud mum to Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 12 – then turned her attention to TV with a string of fly-on-the-wall shows, including Victoria’s Secrets and The Real Beckhams.

In 2009, she was engaged to shipping tycoon Fabrizio Politi but they also went their separate ways.

Everything seemed to change for the better when Geri met her now husband, Formula One racing team boss Christian Horner.

Geri took his surname after the couple tied the knot in 2015, and went on to have a son, Monty, now seven. Thanks to her picturesque country pad and monied friends, Geri was even giving Victoria a run for her money in the ‘Posh’ stakes.

But she is currently said to be ‘too upset to speak to anyone’ after her husband was accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ from a young, female member of staff at Red Bull Racing. He denies the allegations.

Even before the band split, Leeds-born Mel B (short for Brown) had released her own album, and her single I Want You Back made No.1 in 1998.

But it was 2007 before she really began to take the world of TV by storm. After relocating to the US, Melanie came second on America
