Take these simple steps for super soft, healthy skin

1 CLEAN UP

We all know we’re supposed to wash our hands frequently for good hygiene, but there are a few ways we can make the practise work for skin health, too. While it’s important to tackle the backs of hands, in between your fingers and underneath nails, it’s best to take a gentle approach. Stick with warm water – hot can be drying – and opt for a gentle and hydrating hand soap to avoid irritation, says Dr Lindsey Zubritsky, a board-certified dermatologist. 2 PAMPER YOUR SKIN

Giving your hands some extra love by regularly applying moisturiser is ‘vital to maintaining the health of the skin barrier on our hands,’ Dr Zubritsky explains. ‘I recommend applying a thick, creamy moisturiser to damp skin, so it’s best to apply immediately after washing. This helps to lock in hydration and improve moisture.’
