Spritz a bouquet!

best for BEAUTY

It wouldn’t be Spring without a floral per fume! Here are our favourites...

1 YOU WANT... SOME COMFORT

We often associate flowers with freshness but paired with aromatic base notes (the scent that lingers on your skin the longest), you can get something much more full-bodied. The M&S Apothecary range has serious staying power, largely due to its use of essential oils. Its latest launch, called Restful EDP, £10 (50ml), gives rose a sophisticated revamp with black pepper, frankincense and cedar wood for a smokey finish that feels like a hug in a bottle.

FAKE IT YOURSELF

Buying a perfume remains a luxurious investment, so treat it with care to get the most out of your purchase.

● While you may want to show off your bottle in the bathroom or a dressing table, exposure to heat and light can impair its quality, so consider a tucked-away shelf in your bedroom.

● Fragrance holds on to emollients, so remember to moisturise skin first. An unscented lotion works well, or for a quick fix, rub some Vaseline on to where you intend to spray.

● Spraying directly on pulse points (wrists and neck are key areas) helps to boost your fragrance because the heat here emits the fragrance even further. But resist the urge to rub your wrists together! It breaks down the scent particles. ●Want an on-the-go solution without carrying your whole bottle? Carry cotton buds doused in your fragrance and pop in a small plastic bag. Rub onto your skin when you need a fragrance fix!

2YOU WANT... A SWEET TOUCH

We’re not talking about a spritz of something that will set your teeth on edge. This is all about blending sweet and floral so you get a sugar rush that isn’t too sickly sweet. Bespoke London does this brilliantly, combining dessert-inspired ingredients with garden notes. Salted Caramel & Water Lilies EDP, £9.99 (100ml), starts off lightly but develops into a richer scent. If you prefer something punchier from the off, try its Jasmine & Chocolate Berries blend, also £9.9
