Seeing Red!

It’s known as the ‘Unexpected Red Theory’… a sort of ‘move over pink you’re so last year’! The colour of 2024 for interiors (and socks, but we’ll get on to that) is red. That’s right – bold, bright and, in many cases unmatching, red. The ‘Unexpected Red Theory’ is a term recently coined by Brooklyn-based designer Taylor Migliazzo Simon on TikTok. It describes the interior design phenomenon by which adding a pop of red instantly updates the look of any space, especially in places where it shouldn’t necessarily make sense.

And while we’re at it, the fashionistas are experiencing a little bit of scarlet fever themselves, in the form of the LRS, that’s the Little Red Sock. It seems no well-dressed ankle would be seen without a thick ribbed pair of red socks teamed with trainers, loafers… even high heels! So, will you be adding a pop of on-trend red to your living room or sporting a pair of cosy knits? Let us know what you think…

Carrot wait for a slice…

Is it bad that the first thing in our minds when we discovered that International Carrot Day was coming up (4 April, one for your diaries) was images of carrot cake? It’s one of the best ways to eat this veg, quite frankly, and a mouthwatering scroll of Pinterest reveals a myriad of cakes, cupcakes and even loaves to satisfy a sweet tooth. It might not quite stretch to one of your five-aday, but we’ll consider it a worthwhile treat all the same.

#ASongOrMovie ForFragrance

We here at best have a heightened sense of smell, which might explain why this hashtag tickled us so much. Would Audrey Hepburn have been as happy to take the lead in Aroma Holiday? Who knows?!

GOING VIRAL

We all think our pets are the best, but this one might just take the crown for smartest cookie. The clip shared by @lunatheminicockapoo on Instagram shows gorgeous Luna in the car with her owner who is quizzing her on division. He asks the clever puppy some maths questions, she seemingly considers her answers, and then taps out the number on his shoulder. Genius! If only we were that good at maths!
