Victoria Beckham arranges a date with her Benidorm inspiration…
We don’t imagine that Benidorm is exactly top of the Beckhams’ holiday destination list, but it seems Victoria is a secret fan of the hilarious ITV comedy series set in the far-from-posh Spanish resort. In fact, she’s now taken inspiration from one of the show’s most famous characters.
It was recently revealed that Vic’s hubby David has bought his wife a bike-cum-scooter to help her get around as she recovers from a broken foot. And upon receiving David’s kind gift, Victoria immediately compared herself to Benidorm’s scooter-riding favourite, Madge Harvey. The character is famous for navigating the resort on her mobility aid, and it’s clear Posh – fast approaching 50 – thinks she has found a kindred spirit.
‘See u by the pool Madge!’ she joked in a post.
But do Posh and Madge have more in common than we might think? While Madge is famed for her love of a tipple, one of Posh’s first reactions when David presented her with the scooter was just how useful the basket on the front could be.
‘The accessories r endless!’ she said in a post. ‘Think how much wine I can fit in this basket!’
David and Victoria joked around on an Instagram video, which saw David attach the accessories to the bike.
‘David bought me a bike to try and help my foot, which is taking a long time to heal,’ Victoria explained. She commented that the bike had a bell, as it could ‘pick up quite the speed’ round corners. This led David to cutely joke, ‘a bell for a belle’. Aww.
