Fern’s in the market for some loving – but she doesn’t want a boyfriend!
Four years on from her divorce from celeb chef Phil Vickery, Fern Britton is ready to get a bit of love back in her life. The 66-year-old star, who has been shot back into the spotlight recently with her appearance in CelebrityBigBrother, reveals that she isn’t against the idea of a bit of romance – but she knows what she does and doesn’t need.
‘The answer is no. I’m not dating at all. I’m not looking for anything,’ she says when asked about her love life, before conceding, ‘But although I would never want to get married or live with anyone again, I would like a bit of romance.’
Expanding on what she might be up for, Fern, who lives in Cornwall, wasn’t ruling out the idea of some companionship.
‘A little bit of going out to supper or maybe having a bit of a holiday,’ she ponders on the topic. ‘Somebody to talk to at the end of the day to run things past. That would be nice.’
‘I don’t need it,’ she added. ‘But it would be nice.’
Fern hasn’t been romantically connected since her divorce from Phil.
