There is fresh Royal heartache for Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips, who finds himself single once again... but there is one woman he can always rely on – his mother

The King’s nephew, Peter Phillips, certainly hasn’t been lucky in love of late. The 46-year-old has just split up from his ‘rock solid’ girlfriend of three years, Lindsay Wallace.

Lindsay, 43, is a former classmate of Peter’s sister Zara at Gordonstoun. The pair are believed to have started dating following Peter’s divorce from Canadian-born Autumn Kelly, now, 45, in 2021. The former husband and wife share two daughters, Savannah, 13, and Isla, 12.

Autumn is believed not to have realised until six weeks into their relationship that Peter was part of the Royal Family. Her horrified mother reportedly said: ‘Oh, Autumn! What have you gotten yourself into?’

When they got engaged, a smitten Peter said their meeting was ‘fate’ while Autumn recalled: ‘I certainly didn’t see the question coming. I looked horrible in my wellies with wet hair. I said yes straight away, though.’

But the pair began living apart in 2019, and announced in February 2020 that they were planning to divorce.

Peter is the only son of Princess Anne and lives on her estate, Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire. Giving a touching interview to Sky News Australia recently, he called his mother ‘pretty remarkable’, adding: ‘Both our parents have been, obviously, hugely influential to Zara and myself.’
