Popular presenter Eamonn Holmes has made the headlines many times, most recently for his mobility issue.
Just last week, the 64-yearold was photographed getting help as he entered a building with walking sticks before getting back into his car.
There were also pictures of him in a wheelchair, which only increased fans’ concerns. Explaining the situation to best last year, he said: ‘The good news is the op cured me of my back pain – I lost full mobility. I’m doing everything I can to get better. But it’s slow.’ He admitted that more than 50 steps could be a struggle. He also confessed it could be humbling at times to ask for help. ‘It’s truly draining when you have to say “Do you mind? Could you...? Thank you, I’m sorry,”’ he told us.
Ruth admitted on Loose Women that Eamonn feared she was getting fed up. ‘I am and I’m not,’ she revealed. ‘It’s called being human. When you’re helping someone and they’re incapacitated, it’s hard to be Florence Nightingale all the time and not sometimes roll your eyes… Everyone in the family’s life alters, not just the person who has the illness.’
We can imagine none of this will be easy for him or his TV presenter wife who have been married since 2010, and are about to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary on 26 June. So it was good to see Eamonn visiting a good friend to both of the couple, Linda Lusardi, last week and looking in a jolly mood.
Naturally, he posted a picture of the visit – and the comments were surprising.
