Ahead of the Glasgow Cop26 meeting, we focus on climate change and heritage, with features on coasts, peatlands and bog bodies. Our Big Dig is the excavation of a richly decorated Roman villa in Dorset, where the county museum has acquired one of the villa’s most iconic and puzzling mosaics. From Dorset we go to museums across the UK and Ireland, where researchers have tracked down nearly 40,000 Aboriginal items collected from Australia in the past three centuries.
