Oakwood opens in Kyoto
OAKWOOD has launched in Japan’s famed UNESCO World Heritage destination.
Oakwood Hotel Oike Kyoto features 104 guest rooms and 16 studio apartments in the heart of the historic district.
All 104 elegant guest rooms come with quality beds and the latest in-room technology, including an air purifier, 55-inch flat screen smart TV, tablet, press readers and wifi. The 16 studio apartments feature kitchens with a refrigerator, microwave oven, cooking utensils, washing machine and dryer.

LUFTHANSA has launched new short- and medium-haul business class menus, inspired by German metropolises.
The ‘Tasting Heimat’ menus (meaning “home” or “homeland”) reference Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Leipzig, featuring “German classics with unusual components”.
Dishes include crab salad with a beetroot and potato terrine, inspired by Hamburg’s sea breeze; and Frankfurt’s classic “Grie Soß” (green sauce) with young kale, poached egg and French Macaire potatoes.

PLAZA PREMIUM OPENS “LAND-TO-AIR PREMIUM EXPERIENCE” AT NEW QINGDAO AIRPORT
PLAZA PREMIUM has unveiled its first “land-to-air premium airport experience” at the newly opened Qingdao Jiaodong International airport.
Facilities include a three-floor VIP building in the arrivals area, and three lounges in departures.
The 6,500 sqm VIP building features a 54-room Aerotel, a Plaza Premium lounge, and 11 premium rooms. Services include private check-in, concierge, dining and lounge services, and fast track/curb-to-apron services.
Facilities vary in the three pay-per-use lounges in the departures area, but include fast-track services, food and beverage options, showers, private resting areas, massage and beauty services, and VIP meet and greet.
