Our cover bird is the dipper, the perkiest of all songbirds with a unique watery lifestyle. Rare in aviculture, it’s nevertheless hugely popular as a charismatic “British bird”. We’re strong, too, on native finches this week, with a primer on diet for breeding redpolls (our bounciest finch?) and a visit to the always-stimulating OC Aviary.
