Go large! If you have the space and time, the pleasures of a large mixed collection are hugely rewarding. This week we visit the impressive setup of birdkeeper Michael Fox: a setup that’s bound to whet your appetite for birdkeeping on the grand scale. What might you keep in it? Well, there are the gorgeous waxbills – and we get up to speed on the accommodation and breeding diets for these little gems. Then there’s the red siskin, a superb hardbill with many fans in the softbill community! Then we have plenty on canaries and budgies (of course) plus native birds, parrots and all our regulars.
