It’s one of our favourite native finches on the cover this week: the dainty siskin. For those lucky enough to breed this little beaut we have experienced advice about when parental problems can be best solved by leaving well alone. Quality management is not always about interference and changes! We also meet two powerhouses of the canary and foreign bird/parrot fancies: Russell Sykes, who’s going great guns with his Belgians (as well as his Yorkies and Fifes) and Darren Sefton, well known as a Foreign Bird League kingpin but also a deeply dedicated fancier.
