We’ve got the canaries and magpies as emblems of our football clubs. In the States they’ve got an oriole for a famous baseball club! This week we meet the brashly coloured Baltimore oriole, and with it a host of other gorgeous New World species. All bird fanciers would dream about these – and a lucky few have actually kept them! Sticking with exotic birds, we look at some of the remarkable adaptations that birds have made for living on the ground. (Some species actually don’t leave it at all!)
