Find out what's going on in the world of campervanning

CLUB ACQUIRES NOTTINGHAMSHIRE CAMPSITE

The Camping and Caravanning Club has acquired Thornton's Holt Camping Park, a 13.5-acre campsite near Nottingham. The site, which can accommodate up to 175 campervans, motorhomes, caravans and tents, has been owned by the same family for over three decades.

With its eco-friendly features such as solar water heating and rainwater harvesting systems, Thornton's Holt is an attractive addition to the Club's network.

Sabina Voysey, the C&CC Director General said the Club aims to build on the success created by previous owners, Polly and Simon Jones.

Following its temporary closure for refurbishment work after being officially handed over on 1 November, Thornton’s Holt will reopen in the coming weeks under the new name of the Nottingham Club site.

HITTING THE JANUARY SALES

Now in its fourth year, the January Motorhome & Campervan Sale will take place at Stoneleigh near Coventry from 19-21 of this month.

Various dealers will attend the pop-up sale with a selection of new and used vehicles on offer, so if you’re looking for a fresh set of wheels to start the new year, there’s no better time to start your research. At the time of press, those exhibiting include Coast 2 Coast Campers, camper_versions, Creative Campervan Conversions, Custom Camper Solutions, DG Motorhomes, Dormobile, Jack’s Shack, M&C Ltd, Motorhome Valuation Services, Nick Whale, Orange Campers, SB2 Campers, Speeds, Tribe Leisure and Yorkshire Rose Motorhomes.

Entry is free, with a free goody bag on offer for all those who register in advance. The exhibition, which takes place indoors, is open from 10am to 4pm on Friday and Saturday, 10am to 2pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the evening entertainment line-ups have been revealed for the 2024 season of Warners campervan and motorhome shows. Four-night stays are £82 per pitch at each event and include evening entertainment every night of your stay. There is then a headline show on Saturday evening, which is ticket only as an additional option.

Pitches are selling fast, particularly those with electric hook-up, so we suggest you get in quickly! In addition to the evening entertainment, you will also find large exhibition areas to browse at each event, and shuttle bus services/coach trips to help you make the most of exploring the local area. Additionally, most events also offer free seminars with a series of guest speakers offering informative and inspirational talks.
