2024’s top 20 new ’vans

Looking to buy a brand-new campervan or motorhome in 2024? Here are the best of this season’s new models, all of them class winners or highly commended the Motorhome Awards or Campervan Awards…

Itineo Cozi PS700 £61,800

One of the lowest prices here, surprisingly, belongs to one of the vehicles with the greatest number of berths (six), but Itineo motorhomes have always offered good value. The company is also renowned for its family layouts, although this is both its first bunk bed floorplan in a low-profile body and the first time it has used the Ford Transit as a base vehicle. Standard spec includes the 130hp engine and manual gearbox but the Elite Plus Pack upgrades that to 170hp and the automatic transmission.

You’ll also need to add the Life and Elite packs to gain features like the multimedia unit, heated waste tank, overcab sunroof, reversing camera and flyscreen for the door, but the PS700 still stays well within the realms of the entry-level.

Where it excels is with the size of its lounge, with one straight sofa and a longer L-shaped one. Above is a drop-down bed that can come right down to seat height if you only need four berths. In that case, you’ll never to need to make up a bed as there are bunks across the back (each over 2m long), which kids (of any age) will love. The washroom is quite impressive, too.

Adria Active Duo £52,990

Adria’s long-awaited (in the UK) pop-top campervan is an interesting model that fills a niche between barely-a-camper models like the VW California Beach and those with a comprehensive side kitchen. It has the usual galley on the nearside but it’s a much more compact unit than you might expect and its cooker has just a single gas ring.

By making the kitchen unit shorter, though, Adria has allowed the Active Duo to have twin sliding doors, so you get safe and convenient access to the sliding rear seat (from Reimo, with Isofix) wherever you’re parked. In a vehicle that’s likely to be a daily driver that’s worth a lot.

If you live in a city, or anywhere that height barriers proliferate, you’ll also be grateful for the little Adria’s sub-2m overall height (lowered suspension, part of the optional Comfort Pack, makes this possible). And there’s plenty more to applaud here, from the ease of bed-making to the fridge that can be reached from outside. Then there’s the roof bed with Froli springs for extra comfort and the typically durable Adria build quality.
