Looking to stock up on new accessories for your campervan adventures? You won’t find any better than this selection of award-winning kit

Every 12 months, our colleagues at Camping magazine celebrate the best outdoor kit of the year.

The annual Camping Awards are the biggest and best in the UK – covering tents and accessories of all kinds.

Of course, lots of the camping equipment that is used by tent campers is just as useful for campervanners. And that’s why we’ve picked out some of the highlights of the 2024 awards that we know campervanners will love.

The Camping Awards are all about helping readers decide how to spend their hard-earned cash.

When money is tight, you need to know that the gear you’re spending your cash on is worth the outlay. Value for money, innovation, versatility and style are all taken into account when it comes to handing out the prizes. But sometimes it just comes down to what has that indefinable something, the X factor that sets it apart from everything else.

The winners all have one thing in common – the expert seal of approval.

BEST CAMPING FRIDGE/COOLBOXColeman Convoy Cooler

We’ve all cast a covetous eye at those heavy-duty Yeti coolboxes, much beloved of social media influencers. Yes, they look cool but, my word, they are expensive! Well, the new collection of coolers from Coleman is the affordable alternative. Robust and stylish, the Convoy range comes in three sizes – with the mid-sized 53-litre version coming in at £150, around half the price of its nearest Yeti equivalent.

The lower price doesn’t mean lower quality. In fact, the Convoy’s performance is as good as its looks. As well as being fitted with additional rubber seals that keep your food and drink colder for longer, it includes extra features such as a built-in bottle opener, rugged wheels and rope handles. The Convoy coolers also have integrated antibacterial linings to prevent fungal growth. And it’s not just a cooler. The robust construction means it’s strong enough to double as a seat, supporting up to 110kg. Commended in this category was the Outdoor Revolution Eco Deep Extreme Compressor Cooler 26L (£249). This compressor cooler does a great job of keeping food and drink chilled at the campsite – and is great for taking on longer road trips. Also commended was the Petromax Cooler Bag (from £149.95), which is a great way to keep your food and drink cool either in your ’van or if you’re out on a walk.
