Ideal for outdoorsy types, this campsite is set within Rother Valley Country Park, with views of the lakes, Sheffield and over to the Peak District. The country park covers 750 acres and offers lots of walking routes with mountain bike trails and access onto the National Sustrans Cycle Route and Trans Pennine Trail. Also set within the country park is Sheffield Cable Waterski and Aqua Park. Here you can have a go on the inflatable aqua assault course, learn to kneeboard or water ski, or take to the cable park for some wakeboarding action. Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park was newly completed five years ago with hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up and fully serviced pitches in a choice of sizes. There are toilets, showers, a wet room, games room and a large coffee shop all on site. For anyone looking for a little more action and adventure, the site is just a few minutes’ walk from Gulliver's Valley Resort.

One of the largest man-made lakes in Europe, Rutland Water is surrounded by over 4,000 acres of open countryside. Things to do and enjoy here include cycle hire, picnic areas, water sports, boat cruises, a nature reserve and golf course. There is also a selection of cafés and pubs for that all-important refreshment after a day’s activity. Expanding on the watersports available, you can go sailing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and stand up paddleboarding and equipment can be hired if needed. If you prefer something a little more sedate, why not hire a rowing boat? Ten minutes’ drive from Rutland Water is Rutland Caravan and Camping. The campsite has grass and hardstanding pitches, all with water, drainage and electric hook-up, spread across two areas, one for families and one for adults only. There are toilets and showers, dishwashing facilities, a motorhome waste point, a dog walk and shower, a play area and indoor swimming pool.
