In aviation, stealth technology is the art of evading radar with weird shapes, tiny cross-sections and funky coatings. Rendered in a fetching shade of grey and with none of the visual menace of, say, an RS6, the e-Tron GT is the B-2 Spirit of premium EVs. Launched with little fuss, overshadowed by both a Porsche version of the same thing and a flashier RS version of itself, the e-Tron GT has been cruising our collective airspace undetected since 2021 .

This is a crying shame for several reasons. As an argument for going electric, the Audi’s proved highly persuasive. Naturally electric sceptics will be rubbing their hands together with glee as I set about espousing the virtues of a £90k, 2.4-tonne Audi that required a £1200 wallbox to get the most from it, and that’s managed to shed 42 per cent of its value over 12 months and 10,000 miles… But bear with me.
