I named mine rEVolutionary. Because it is. It’s the base 2023 Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive. For the price, the technology and the thrill and sheer joy I get in driving it, it truly is rEVolutionary.

I loved Barry Wayne’s letter in the January issue, responding to Mark Walton’s column about naming EVs. Prudence is a great name for a car.

Only a true car aficionado goes to the trouble of naming their means of transport. I know a couple of Alfa Romeo owners who both named their second car from the brand ‘the Indefensible’ for obvious reasons.

Seeing red

One of my (many) pet driving hates is when people sit on their brakes at junctions and traffic lights, especially at night and in the wet, when the brake lights dazzle the driver behind. Why can’t they pull on the handbrake for extended stops, as we were taught in driving lessons?

I recently bought my first automatic and discovered, in an enlightening moment, that if you have Auto Hold switched on, the brake lights illuminate. I have now joined the guilty hordes. But surely it is not beyond the wit of designers for a vehicle to distinguish between pedal braking and use of the parking brake?
