Heartbreaking True-life

A night out turned into a nightmare

Kelly Bossons, 30, from Mansfield

Putting clean glasses away, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a group of lads enter the bar.

‘Oh my God, hi!’ my friend squealed excitedly.

We were working the high season in Magaluf back in June 2016, and her brother and a group of mates had come for a holiday.

Chatting to the group, we arranged to meet them later after our shift. They were a nice group of lads, and we all got on well. One of them, Jordan, was especially funny.

I could tell he liked to make people laugh, and he seemed like a genuinely nice bloke.

We saw a lot of them during their week-long holiday and after they left, we all added each other on Facebook.

In September 2016 I headed back to the UK, and in June 2017, me and some friends decided to go out to Magaluf for a holiday.

On our first night out, we’d all got dressed up to the nines and I couldn’t wait to party back in all my old haunts. Walking into the first bar, I stopped in my tracks.

He was so funny, the first one to the bar and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

From that point it was full steam ahead. We were so in love and got our own place together in Retford in January 2019.

As winter 2019 rolled around, we decided to start trying for a baby – we’d discussed kids early on, and we both knew we wanted them.

‘I just want to see a little version of us running around,’ Jordan said one night.

‘Me too,’ I smiled.

We were so excited, and after I’d had I’d had my implant removed I decided to do a pregnancy test before Christmas, on the offchance. I wasn’t surprised when it came back negative, as I knew it often didn’t happen straight away.

But we weren’t putting any pressure on ourselves – we were happy to le
