Your tips are genius!

Remember these are YOUR tips -we haven’t tried them ourselves.

Candle chaos

If your candlestick drips on your carpets, don’t panic! You can easily use an iron to remove the wax. Just place grease-proof paper on top of the wax, then iron it. The wax will melt and stick to the paper.

Close shave

While doing my weekly shop, I realised that shops often charge more for pink coloured products, like toiletries. So, I’ve started buying men’s razors instead of women’s – they save me around £2.

Perfect slice

For an evenly cut bagel, I pierce around the edge of the bagel multiple times with a knife. It’s much easier than trying to cut it perfectly in half.

Fruit boost

Toss your banana peel into your bed of compost once you’ve finished snacking. They’re packed full of nutrients and decompose quickly to give your plants a growth boost. My plants always seem perkier afterwards.

Deep clean

My irregularly shaped vases are always such a nightmare to clean. But I pop a handful of rice inside as well as white vinegar. Then, I swirl it around so the rice gets into all the corners, before rinsing for my next bouquet.

COME UP ROSES

Safe storage

To stop my naughty grandkids rifling through my cupboards, I tie a hairband around the handles. It’s a simple and easy way to child-proof any drawer and stop them getting to something they shouldn’t touch.

Pour a pint

I use my hubby’s unwanted beer as a pest repellent for my plants. I leave the open bottle or can next to my flowerbeds to attract the snails and slugs. Now there’s nowhere near as many creepy crawlies gnawing on my plants.

Fresh feeling

If I wash my towels with my clothes, they always come out smelling a bit musty. So instead, I wash them with hot water and vinegar before popping them in the washing machine with laundry detergent. No more musty smells for me!
