Envelope error

Perhaps the most feared fluff-up at any awards show took place at a very chaotic Oscars ceremony in 2017. Due to muddled envelopes, La La Land was mistakenly awarded Best Picture. Only after two minutes of celebrations was it announced that actually Moonlight was the winner, as gasps rang out among the audience. Awkward!

Never has an Oscar winner been as relatable as Jennifer Lawrence! When she won Best Actress at the 2013 Academy Awards for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook she was literally head over heels. Dressed in a floor-length Dior gown, J-Law tripped up the steps while walking on stage. She styled it out with grace, helped by the A-list audience giving her a standing ovation. As Taylor Swift made her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, she had a surprise visitor on stage. Kanye West ambushed her, announcing: ‘I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!’, referring to Taylor’s fellow nominee’s song Single Ladies.
