WINNING COLOURS

If bracelets are a little delicate for your style, you won’t find wrist-borne apparel much more rugged than a miniature tow rope. Part of Outlaw Gear’s new range of motorsport-inspired clothing and accessories, the ‘M on the Rocks’ wristband (pictured) features a strip of coloured threads aping the iconic Martini racing livery. The strap itself is available in sand or black, while the shackle can be specified in black or silver. The wristband is made in Germany and comes in eight sizes, ranging from 16-23cm in circumference, while the diameter of the rope is 8mm. There are other cool liveries represented, such as Kremer Racing’s green, the Gulf colours and those of BMW M, priced from £39.99-57.95.

Magnum PI in miniature

By way of proof, if any more were needed, that toy companies target nostalgic adults as much as kids these days, Playmobil has added a new car to its line-up of classics: the Ferrari 308GTS quattrovalvole from Magnum PI. Complete with a moustachioed Tom Selleck figurine – as well as Higgins, Rick and TC – the set also includes some Magnum-themed props including binoculars, a parrot and a palm tree. More importantly, the Ferrariʼs lights pop up, the engine bay opens and the roof panel can be removed. It costs £69.99.

Clutch converter

Converting a Ford Type 9, Type E or Type 3 gearbox from cable to hydraulic clutch will be much easier with this nose slave cylinder from Burton Power (£119.95, part no APC5). Itʼs built to higher tolerances than existing cylinders, which can be prone to leaks. With countless Fords, kit-cars and retrofits using these ʼboxes, itʼs a big development for those seeking the lighter, more consistent action of hydraulics.
