CLASSIC CAR AND RESTORATION SHOW PREVIEW

The NEC is revving up to host the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show – here’s a practical guide to the attractions that you can’t afford to miss

Britain's best restorations, long-lost barn-finds and experts with decades of experience will be heading to the NEC this weekend for the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show with Discovery.

The halls are set to teem with stands and groups displaying the best of their marques, be they models that have been lavished with care and attentions since they rolled off the showroom floor or examples that are ready for – or have already undergone – restoration.

It might even be cars in the middle of a restoration, getting some live fettling at the show from experts within the club; live action abounds about the place, spilling beyond the live stage.

If you’re looking for some advice on a project, tips, tricks, parts or tools then the ‘Resto Show’ is the place to be.

‘WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THIS YEAR’S SHOW’

‘The one thing that we can hang onto in these troubled times is our shared enthusiasm for classics cars and passion for the industry.

‘The Classic Car and Restoration show has gone from strength to strength and we are looking forward to a season-opener of the ‘friendly show’ with dozens of clubs and groups showing what they can do. I’m always humbled and blown away by the efforts and drive by all who attend when I walk the halls.

‘This year Practical Classics will be living on the classic world live stage restoring a Reliant Scimitar in tribute to the fabulous Tom Karen.

We will also have a celebration of barn finds and restored finds, plus a smattering of television celebrities.

We are looking forward to working with Classic Car Weekly on the National Car Club Awards, celebrating the work of enthusiasts and volunteers who are deserving of a gong in recognition of their hard work – as are the people who really make all these clubs tick. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s show! Enjoy.’
