BMM to celebrate Coronation weekend with one of UK’s most iconic vehicles – some with Royal history

LAND ROVER SHOW, BRITISH MOTOR MUSEUM, BANBURY ROAD, GAYDON, WARWICKSHIRE CV35 0BJ. 7-8 MAY.

Celebrating 75 years of the Land Rover marque, the British Motor Museum will showcase hundreds of Land Roversdating from 1948 to the present.

Regardless, the Jaguar Land Rover Experience will return to the show, as the event as a whole enters its ninth year, bringing with it a series of obstacles to showcase the technology and capabilities of their vehicles, including Defender ride-alongs.

Normally this weekend would run across the Saturday and Sunday, so it’s worth noting the shuffled dates to account for the Coronation. Though if you want some Royal ‘Rovers while at Gaydon, the collection holds a series of Land Rovers owned by members of The Crown including State IV, a 1953 adapted 86” model finished in Royal Claret to accompany the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on a on a six- month Commonwealth tour soon after the Coronation.

A live stage will host owners, restorers, club members and fans as they share their stories. The Monday will host a tribute to the 1948 Motor Show where ‘the’ Land Rover was announced alongside the Morris Minor and Jaguar XK120.
