There’s less than a month to go until the UK’s biggest indoor classic car event – here’s everything that you simply cannot afford to miss…

Britain's flagship classic show gets underway in less than a month’s time – and this special issue of CCW is packed with top tips on its best cars and biggest attractions.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 10-12 November and brings together 318 different car clubs, making it the world’s biggest classic club-driven event.

More than 3000 vehicles will go on display across the equivalent of eight football pitches, with more than 69,000 enthusiasts from the UK and Europe expected to attend. Show director Lee Masters said: ‘We’re very excited for our 2023 show.

It’s a great opportunity to celebrate our fantastic hobby. But with so much change in the motoring industry at present, it’s also a chance for our community to work together to safeguard it for the future. Our Meet the Experts Theatre is covering a raft of topics, each of which has a vital role to play regardless of if you’re a keen admirer of classics, an owner, a restorer, a mechanic or a business owner.

1 SNAP A SELFIE WITH THE STARS

The Classic Motor Show brings in a wealth of fantastic cars, clubs, and owners – and a following of famous faces, too. Wheeler Dealers’ Mike Brewer is set to star on the stage, as are Alex Kersten, world trials champion and stunt riding extraordinaire Dougie Lampkin and Paul Cowland from Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars.

Mike will be recounting 20 years of Wheeler Dealers as well as interviewing Dougie about his career while Alex will be talking all things YouTube, Sh*tboxes and high-mileage heroes. So, it’s best keep your phone handy and make sure that you’ve brushed your hair!

There’ll be recognisable faces aplenty across the weekend at the NEC.

2 THE EXPERTS THEATRE

Those celebrities aren’t here for the sole purpose of taking selfies – they will be taking to the CCW-sponsored Experts Theatre in Hall 5 across the three days leading discussions, talks and interviews with other familiar faces, experts, and journalists on a wide range of topics.

Iconic Auctioneers will be talking through the best ways to get the most out of buying and selling at auction, HERO-ERA will give you some insight on how to use your classic for motor sport while the team from Meguair’s will give you their tips on how to clean and shine your classic to perfection for concours competitions.
