Untouched collection of 14 classics discovered in a remote setting – and they all going to auction

Who among us doesn’t dream of stumbling across a barn full of dusty classics? They’re still out there if you know where to find them. The problem is finding them, especially when they’re tucked away in a remote corner of Scotland. This collection, consisting of 14 classics and a selection of motorcycles and spares, was discovered in southern Scotland. As a result of the barn finds in its last sale doing so well, Anglia Car Auctions (ACA) received a call to go and have a closer look at this hoard of rusty gold.

The cars are all being sold as no-reserve lots at the Kings Lynn auctioneer’s sale this weekend (4-5 November), with an assortment of classic motorcycles retrieved from the same location due to be sold in its January 2024 sale.

Head of Classics at ACA Guy Snelling commented: ‘We received a call off the back of our very successful barn find sale in our previous auction. Despite the fact that the cars were up in Scotland and we’re based in Norfolk, we headed up the very next day to check them out.

‘The retrieval process was very complicated, as the location was very rural and down an extremely long and winding, steep and twisty track. It was also somewhat precarious as part of the barn had collapsed. The entire retrieval process took two days, with the assistance of some local manpower and everybody working together as a team.

‘There are more cars still to come. Most had been stored for many decades, so they’re in varying conditions, but some have brushed up quite well once we were able to give them some attention back at ACA’s base in King’s Lynn.

‘These are yet more fascinating discoveries, and show that ACA is fast becoming the go-to auction house for interesting barn finds, able to adapt to any situation and rise to a challenge. We’re intrigued to see how all these cars do when they come up for sale at our early November event.’
