UPCOMING AUCTION MORRIS LESLIE, ERROL AIRFIELD. 18 NOVEMBER

Morris Leslie’s final sale of the year promises an eclectic mix of classics

M orris Leslie’s last sale of the year includes a 1967 Jaguar Mk X that shows a believed-correct but not warranted 10,838 miles from new. Sold new in Dundee it saw light use until being scratched in a supermarket car park, the auctioneer says. It’s been stored in a heated garage since 1984/1985 and is offered as a non-runner that’s also missing its keys.

It's joined by a 3000-mile 1994 Morgan 4/4 that’s covered a warranted 3107 miles from new and whose service book contains ten stamps. Among a generous helping of BMW models is a 1996 M3 Evolution convertible in the ultra-desirable Techno Violet.

Proper British upper-class motoring comes in the form of a 1959 Alvis TD21 and a 1950 Bristol 401 project, which is offered without reserve.

On the smaller sporting front comes an unrestored 1971 Austin-Healey Sprite that has beenwell looked-after, with body and mechanical repairs done as and when needed. For those whose loyalty sways towards Triumph a restored 1980 Spitfire that comes with plenty of history could be just the ticket. ❚ 01821 642574 morrisleslie.com

Showing just over 10,000 miles since that incident the auctioneer says that the car has been kept in a heated garage. It’s offered as a non-runner and the keys are missing but those factors aside it’s a first-rate offering.

1980 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE

Auctioneer-described as being a ‘stunning example’ this very late Spitfire has history (in two bulging files) dating back to 1982, the then-owner keeping it until 1994 when it moved from Peterhead to Aberdeen. Looking great thanks to a restoration 20 or so years ago it comes with a hardtop and a recently re-trimmed interior and likes a steal a
