There’s plenty to look forward to this year when it comes to enjoying the classic car hobby and we’ve got loads of great ideas on how you can make the next 12 months particularly memorable. How many will you tick off ?

We love making New Year’s resolutions – and then failing to stick to them. Usually because it’s easy to become disillusioned with the challenge of eating fewer biscuits. But what if your resolutions were more classic car-oriented?

What if you had a list of 24 things to look forward to in 2024? Might that serve to drive you on to try something new, go somewhere different or just experience your classic in a whole new light?

Well, we’ve assembled an opening salvo of ideas that you might want to take on in 2024. From the simple to the challenging, the adventurous to the closer to home, there’s a little something for every concept on this list.

You don’t have to tackle them all, mind you, but there’s no harm in putting something novel onto your calendar this year; be that a show, meet or expedition. There are plenty of incredible anniversaries in the classic world that are going to be celebrated this year with spectacular events to match.

So why not give some of them a go? The year is young, our list of events on this year is already rampant with shows and it’s time to get planning!

1 GET ALONG TO THE FIRST EVENTS OF THE YEAR

January certainly isn’t going to be a fallow period for classics. Bicester is hosting its first Scramble of the year on 7 January celebrating the ‘High Smileage Club’ for cars that make you grin regardless of whatever else is going on; perfect for January. Already on the list are the Porsche 911, Series Land Rover and ‘Frogeye’ Sprite.

Caffeine and Machine already has a busy calendar, too, with its regular themed events spilling into early 2024 so if you’re looking to lap up some German or Japanese motoring culture, be sure to pop by either The Bowl or The Hill in the New Year. Both C&M and Bicester offer events with a brilliantly laid-back atmosphere so there’s no better way to enjoy a January event. Plus, both offer a cracking coffee, ideal for when the mercury is on the slippery slope…
