HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THE VAN FOR?

I bought for £980 from an ad in CCW in 2015. The asking price was £1050 but it wouldn't start without a jump so I got £70 off for a new battery. The seller was a retired Ford engineer who’d worked at the Dunton facility and somehow got it as a ‘barn/garage find’. He tidied it up and MoT’d it and wanted the cash for another project.

I’ve since totally restored the body and chassis as a retirement project with many new outer panels and multiple repairs to the chassis. It’s also had a new clutch, track rod ends/ball joints, windscreen and rubber and door mirrors and a new load bed floor that I made from exterior plywood. It has since gone on display at the NEC show.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

Not a lot. There’s MoT history but no service history. It’s had four previous owners and a Brighton van sales sticker suggested that it spent some of its life on the south coast. It was definitely used by builders as evidenced by dried concrete all over the chassis and rear tailgate locking mechanisms. I also found various building materials invoices when I stripped the dash out to change the heater motor and switch.
