What is shaping up to be the biggest and best ever display of cars that formed the career of the legendary Brazilian driver’s career is promising enthusiasts a ‘tribute that will move fans worldwide’.

A cross a record-breaking career, the legendary Brazilian driver bagged more race wins at Silverstone than at any other circuit on the Formula One calendar; so it’s only fitting that this year’s Silverstone Festival is preparing to commemorate Ayrton Senna’s exceptional racing career.

Paying tribute to his many incredible achievements, the Festival, with the support of the Senna family and brands, is assembling what they hope to be the biggest and best collection of cars that the triple World Champion raced throughout his F1 career and formative seasons.

This year marks both 40 years since the generational talent burst onto the F1 scene with Toleman and 30 years since the tragic accident that took his life at Imola on Sunday, 1 May 1994. Senna’s mark on F1 is best described as indelible, his ten-year career seeing him accrue 41 GP wins with Lotus and McLaren. Senna still holds the record for most wins at Monaco in F1, and around Silverstone, despite holding just one F1 win on the circuit, he has more overall wins there than any other driver, racking up six trips to the top of the rostrum there in just one season of Formula Three on his way up the ladder.

‘There could be no better circuit to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Ayrton Senna than Silverstone,’ said Silverstone Festival event director, Nick Wigley. ‘Ayrton won ten times from his 20 starts at Silverstone and we will honour that extraordinary success with the biggest collection of Senna cars ever displayed together.’

With a collection of Formula One cars lining up for the roster across the weekend, there’s also set to be a healthy array of classic F3 cars packing onto the grid, harking back to the bevy of 1983 wins that Senna successfully bagged.
