Abumper array of exciting options are being lined up for this year’s Festival of the Unexceptional

This year’s Festival of the Unexceptional – lined up once again at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire on 27 July – sees the event mark a decade of uplifting the ubiquitous with largest display yet.

Tickets are £35 per car, not per person, so if you’re looking to show off your Renault Espace MkI or Toyota Previa then get some mates together to make the most of it. As is well established by now, the Festival is a celebration of the often maligned and forgotten ordinary classics of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

This year, the gates are opening earlier and closing later – 7:30am to 7:30pm – offering 12 hours of common classics. For those who can, it’s recommended to arrive early and hang around until the close for some special surprises from Hagerty. There’s improved access, too – no more long snaking queue to get in, with modern cars filtered out and away from the display lawn giving display-worthy vehicles an easier entry.

There will be more entries than ever for the Concours d’Ordinaire. Atotal of 50 spaces has been opened up with nominations now open to eligible vehicles online. In addition to the concours, there will be the People’s Choice Award with event-goers will vote upon on the day.
