The model really captures the essence of Volvo; the huge grille with logo gives the model weight and presence. There are lashings of chrome detail everywhere, which really brings this model to life. Finer detail has not been scrimped on, either; the roof rack is a good touch and the tapered exhaust pipe demonstrates IXO's ability to replicate classics with inherent care and attention. A solid offering, recalling and capturing Volvo's true heritage and what made it a household name.

In an attic somewhere in South London is a very play-worn Corgi Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman. It really is in a sorry state and one could feel guilty for playing with such a car but, after all, they were toys. But Corgi’s Pullman had a lovely bit of brilliance that ensured it stood out over the Dinky rival – that being the ingenious rear axle mechanism that allowed functioning front wipers. Corgi Model Club (CMC) faithfully reproduces this car once more, with its wonderful wiper movement plus the original burgundy paintwork, ‘Glidomatic’ suspension and decently applied front and rear detail.
