YOUR CARS CELEBRATED

More than 500 of your classics packed into the British Motor Museum for the first Coffee & Chrome event of the year – despite the challenging weather

Gale-force winds weren’t enough to deter more than 500 of you from bringing your classics along to this free-to-attend breakfast meet.

Blustery conditions at The British Motor Museum in the wake of Storm Kathleen didn’t stop more than 500 classic owners from enjoying this bustling breakfast meet.

Classic insurer Footman James’ first Coffee &Chrome event of the year brought together everything from a 1934 Austin Ten to an unrestored 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Europa –and plenty of British sports cars, hot hatches, modern classics and US classics in particular thrown in for good measure.

Dan Wilcox, who showed off his 1972 Volkswagen Variant, said: ‘Footman James always picks really good venues for these events –I’ve enjoyed Coffee & Chrome at Impney and Prescott in the past and the British Motor Museum is a great place to hold a car meet. I love the variety of these meets –even though I’m into VWs I get to see a lot of other makes and ages at these events –and it’s free!’

Katie Delamain-Blunt of Footman James added, ‘This Coffee &Chrome meet has been a long time coming. Our first of 2024 and for me personally it was my first since joining the Footman James team and it didn’t disappoint. The eclectic mix of cars that Coffee & Chrome has become known for were out in force. Despite the wind, we had a great morning and a fantastic turn out! Next stop we’ll be at the Impney Estate with 1000 classics on 9June!’

The free-to-attend classic meet is one of six Coffee &Chrome meets being held this year. The insurer is now working on plans for its next event, held on Sunday, 9June at The Impney Estate in Worcestershire, with registrations opening on Wednesday, 15 May.
